dicovery (a lil random)

so theres this funny idea of happiness. and thats all it is, an idea. you can touch it but you can feel it. we all strive so hard to reach it, but its not a place. its a journey.
at first i was frustraighted. i wanted to figure out what it was and what it meant untill i relized that it is a temporary state of mind. and it can not be defined.
our first and foremost important character is montage, hes a fire man. (who burns books) he meets a girl named Christa. ( who has all these ideas) shes the opposite of his wife named Mildred.
the rising action begins when the bell rings at the fire station. the fire truck rushes to a womans house to pour karosine across her books. the woman her self lights a match to burn not only her books and her house but herself as well. montage stole a book before leaving th woman to set the blaze.
the action begins to climb to its climax when Montage arrives at Fabber ( retired profesor) door requesting help to reprint the bible he held in his hand. they talked and made plans and talked more and when Montage left he had an ear piece with fabber in his ear.

unfortunatly thats as far as i got in my book so i guess ill find out what the falling action and conclusion is soon enough.

farhenheit 451

ok so my book talks alot about how their supposed to be happy an what not from the tv and fireworks an what not. but the problem is i dont really understand what happiness is. well you cant define it. its just a funny concept is all.

Fahrenheit 451

ok i know i should be finished or just about half way through. unfortunatly im only a lil half way. the problem is i find it mad borring. the whole book is one conversatio nafter another. no action. AND all their talking about is books, i dont even like books. anyways so far montage is all frustraited cuz this woman burnt herself with her books but montage stole one of them (a bible) an he actually had alot of books hidden an he ws trying ot read them and then he went to see this guy faber and they were talking (of course) about what makes a book important an what not. an then montage was like well lets start a press. Faber didnt want to but now i think thier gonna start.

conflict - Fahrenheit 451

i would say the greatest conflict in Fahrenheit 451 is man vs. society. everything seems fairly pleasant. until he is forced to leave a woman in a burning house along with her books. how could everyone except this way of life. a life without books, knowledge, freedom, thought? montage doesn't understand and can hardly agree with this concept.
another conflict would be the ideas and thoughts the girl next door had brought. the idea of why bill boards are so big, and the dandelion. Oh the dandelion, brought up far to much thinking. it claimed he was not in love. the problem with this was is a married man. he then remembers thinking that if his wife died he would not cry. and this thought made him cry. this brings us to yet another conflict.
man vs woman. montage and his wife can hardly get along, their relationship seems rather awkward. Mildred (his wife) seems to appreciate the tree walled TV set more then her own husband. Its just a reoccurring conflict. I'm not sure if it plays such a significant role but it seems to. it kinda seems to drag montage down and hold him back from experiencing more. to really explore his thoughts and discover more about the world he lives in. Mildred doesn't have any interest in free thinking or anything thinking at all.
so perhaps it really boils down to a conflict of man vs. himself just becuase of all the thinking or absence of thinking which montage has to undergoe and his emotions which fallow. (sadness, frusraion, anger, curiosity, worry.....)

star wars

i must start out to say: never before in my life would i think i would watch such a movie.
Star wars turned out to be a great movie about a war of good vs. evil. and yet was much more then that. each character played such a specific role an the movie would most definitely be incomplete without each of them. Luke of course is our protagonist character and represent everything of which is good. on the opposite end we have Darth Vader who is everything that is evil. which is a form of "dichotomy" (if i used that correctly) with the same concept of dichotomy r2d2 and c3po are opposites. r2 is completely computer with no humanistic characteristics and c3 is very human like in appearance and yet not so human in nature
In dichotomy everything is black and white but not all the characters are like that. Solo is definitely a grey character. as well as his friend (the captain?) life is never black and white. when Luke finds out that Vader is his father everything become grey. he though his father was a great person and dead. but wanted to fallow in his foot steps. does he still want to pursue his fathers path? no. but you know what they always say: fruit does fall far from the tree.
So basically technology plays a big roll in this movie. but what about nature? i think Yoda kinda represents nature. with his earthy tones and the fact that he lives in a swamp. he's all about looking within to find ones strength. to find your fears to fight them and overcome them. i guess that's what that force is more about. as apposed to the dark side which is all technology. i wonder if that's trying to say something about the roll technology plays in our lives. we've all heard the pros and cons of technology. but maybe we should look for more "natural" or old school solutions for some of everyday things. (biking rather then driving, writing rather then typing , or natural solutions rather then antibiotics) i think so. perhaps you agree?

finding faith

Ok so lets be honest: I've read very little in my book. (Fahrenheit 451) but from what i've read i would say that the citizens seem to have quit a bit of faith in their government. they dont seem to do alot of questioning. they just do what is told. they dont think for themselves think. well, except for the new neighbor girl. i think this will bring in alot of conflict in with faith. perhaps.
